Nothing can compare to the amenities that nature has provided at Walnut Springs Mountain Reserve, but there are some additional features we are have added and continue to add which enhance the experience at Walnut Springs. The planned spacious main lodge, designed by award winning architect Danny Goins of The Highlands Group, will be the centerpiece of the Walnut Springs community. Open and free to all residents and their guests, the lodge will feature a restaurant with cocktail lounge and larger function facilities, indoor and outdoor dining, a fitness center, private meeting rooms, and a wildlife viewing area. The lodge will be distinguished by the melding of rustic yet elegant timber frame, arts and crafts, and log elements, featuring only natural materials and colors, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that will bring together friends and neighbors. Planned luxurious log rental cabins near the main lodge will be available to your guests when they come to visit you and enjoy the beauty of Walnut Springs.
The second Walnut Springs community lodge opened in late Fall, 2007 on the shores of our crystal clear, spring-fed lakes. This lakeside lodge, built around a reclaimed and restored antique log cabin, features a great room, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, an outdoor grill, a cozy kitchen, changing facilities and showers, and a large lakeside deck with lounging and fishing areas. The clear-bottom lakes and waterfall, which are also complete, are situated on two levels, and the upper lake is stocked with two different species of native trout. You will also find a beach and picnic area surrounding the lakes for your enjoyment.
Additional planned amenities at Walnut Springs Mountain Reserve include a fully stocked bass pond, more than 17 miles of trails for hiking, biking, birding, horseback riding or cross-country skiing, as well as picnic areas, nature preserve areas and a dog park/dog run.
